Full-time

·        Work location: Texas Health Ft. Worth, 1301 Pennsylvania Avenue, Ft. Worth, TX 76104

·        Trauma Injury & Violence Prevention Program Oversight – using your clinical knowledge for prevention and outreach

·        Work hours: Full-time, Exempt position, 40 hours/week, Daytime hours; Varied/Flexible schedule to include occasional weekend events

  • Basic graphic design principles and desktop publishing techniques.
  • Proficient computer and Microsoft Office skills.

Here’s What You Need

·        Bachelor’s degree in nursing (BSN) Required

·        Three (3) years Clinical trauma experience in an acute care setting Required and
One (1) year Injury prevention or related specialty experience Required.

·        RN – Registered Nurse Upon Hire required

·        BCLS – Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly Required And
ACLS – Advanced Cardiac Life Support 90 Days Required And

·        PALS – Pediatric Advanced Life Support 90 Days Required Or
ENPC – Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course Upon Hire Req And

·        ATCN – Advanced Trauma Care Nurse Upon Hire Required Or
TNCC – Trauma Nursing Core Course Upon Hire Required And

·        ATCN – Advanced Trauma Care Nurse or American Trauma Society Injury Prevention Course Upon Hire Required And

·        DL – Driver’s License Upon Hire Required

What You Will Do

·        Develop and implement injury prevention programs.

·        Serves as a resource to nursing staff, pre-hospital personnel, and other outside personnel related to trauma care and injury and violence prevention education.

·        Collaborates with internal and external partners as well as community members to implement multi-level interventions that are aligned with broader IVP efforts and plans.

·        Participates in injury and violence prevention networks such as State planning efforts or coalitions, regional trauma advisory committees, HHS regional networks, court systems or national organizations.

·        Maintains current knowledge and expertise on injury and violence prevention.

·        Ensures that staff have access to relevant training and professional development opportunities.

·        Research and identify evidence-based and/or evidence-informed prevention strategies that respond effectively to the major causes of injury and violence in the community.

·         Advance the knowledge of injury prevention through publications and presentations.

·        Contribute to the work associated with increasing knowledge and raising awareness of injury prevention through activities such as publishing the results of research studies, participating in research-related discussions or conferences, collaborating on joint research projects or studies and mentoring.

·        Promotes program visibility and demonstrates value by tracking meaningful injury and violence prevention countermeasures.

·        Performs other work as requested that is reasonably related to the employee’s position, qualifications, and competencies.
