Inpatient, Full-time

(Focus on Lymphedema therapy)

 

 

·        Work location: Texas Health Ft. Worth, 1301 Pennsylvania Avenue, Ft. Worth, TX 76104

·        Physical Therapy department

       Work hours: Full-time, 40 hours/week, Monday-Friday 8AM-5PM, rotate weekends (8-hour days) and some holidays.

Here’s What You Need

·        Associate’s degree completion of a Physical Therapist Assistant program required.

·        No experience needed, Prefer Hospital/acute care experience.

·        PTA – Physical Therapist Assistant Texas – Physical Therapy Assistant License Upon Hire Required (LPTA)

·        BCLS – Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly Required

·        Certified Lymphedema therapy certification Preferred.

·        Good verbal and written communication skills in English.

·        Problem-solving ability, Ability to teach others and Time management skills.

·        Good interpersonal and customer service skills, Basic leadership skills

 

Staff Certifications:

  • Geriatric Clinical Specialists (ABPTS)
  • Orthopedic Clinical Specialists (ABPTS)
  • Wound Management Clinical Specialist (ABPTS)
  • Certified lymphedema therapists
  • Certified hand therapists

 

 

 

What You Will Do

·        Follow plan for care, or appropriate therapeutic intervention to achieve stated goals.

·        Performs treatment procedures/techniques that are within the scope of the professional license.

·        Documents all aspects of assessment and plan of care in accordance with departmental, TJC, Medicare, and other applicable regulatory guidelines

·        Uses therapeutic treatment techniques appropriate to patient age and desire for treatment

·        Educates patient and family through instruction, demonstration, and/or appropriate handouts in treatment plan, safety issues, home programs/self-management and assistive equipment.

·        Demonstrates competence in the performance of age-appropriate patient treatment and individualizes care based on age specific needs.

·        Participate in discharge planning for patient.

·        Attends hospital, department, and community meetings / educational in-services.

·        Strong commitment to interdisciplinary collaboration
