Work hours: Full time (40hours, Benefit eligible) Rotating Shift

Here’s What You Need

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent Required
  • 1 Year Pharmacy tech experience Required and
  • 3 Years in a Texas Health hospital pharmacy Preferred
  • RPhT – Registered Pharmacy Technician Upon Hire Required And
  • Other IV Certification 6 Months Required

 

What You Will Do

·         Coordinates and participates in timely and accurate preparation, delivery & storage of medications, including (when appropriate) the use of technology to do so.

·         Coordinate initial and ongoing training of pharmacy technicians to obtain and maintain competency to reflect current practice guidelines.

·         Assists in the planning and organization of technician workflow and processes to ensure a safe and effective pharmacy service in each technical area of pharmacy. This may include assisting in the creation of the technician schedule, workload allocation, and prioritization.

·         Ongoing professional development and growth.

·         Assisting with regulatory requirements including ensuring required pharmacy quality assurance documentation is recorded as appropriate.

·         Ensuring accuracy of one’s own work as well as the maintenance of required competencies, and other documentation. Must reflect consistently departmental quality improvement and patient safety standards, programs and initiatives.

·         Communicate effectively, develop working relationships and role model teamwork. May assist in the recruitment process of technicians and students.

·         Manage own time and shares the responsibility for minimizing pharmaceutical costs (including wastage) and discovering new process efficiencies. This may include assisting and/or coordinating the cost-effective purchasing of pharmaceuticals & supply items.

  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and efficiencies and assists in their implementation. May lead a shift, team, processes or project & other duties as assigned.
