Registered Nurse Charge (RN) Medical Surgical – Full Time Nights

Here’s What You Need

• Nursing Diploma or Associate’s Degree in Nursing required.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing preferred.
• 1 Year Experience as a registered nurse or completion of an RN residency program required.
• 2 Years Experience as a registered nurse in acute care setting preferred
• RN – Registered Nurse required upon hire.
• BCLS – Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly required.
• ACLS – Advanced Cardiac Life Support 90 Days Req And
• PALS – Pediatric Advanced Life Support 90 Days Req
• CPI – Crisis Prevention Intervention Training 90 days Req
• A high degree of confidentiality, positive interpersonal skills, and ability to function in a fast-paced environment. 

What You Will Do

This role directly assists leadership on a particular unit or units and shift, by offering staff guidance and support, maintaining a clean and safe work environment and ensuring unit operational tasks are completed. Individuals in this role will demonstrate:

. Quality Management – Knowledge of quality management methods, tools, and techniques and ability to create and support an environment that meets the quality goals of the organization.

. Conflict Management – Understanding of how to anticipate, recognize, and deal effectively with existing or potential conflicts at the individual, group, or situation level; ability to apply this understanding appropriately to diverse situations.

. Decision Making and Critical Thinking – Knowledge of the decision-making process and associated tools and techniques; ability to accurately analyze situations and reach productive decisions based on informed judgment.

. Flexibility and Adaptability – Knowledge of successful approaches, tools, and techniques for dealing with changes and adapting to a changing environment; ability to adapt as needed.

. Delegation – Understanding of the need to effectively delegate tasks to others and the ability to empower and motivate associates to take over tasks and responsibilities to accomplish results for which the manager maintains ultimate accountability.

. Customer Interaction – Knowledge of the principles and techniques of communicating with a customer; ability to utilize practices, tools, and techniques for customer interaction.

. Patient Safety – Knowledge of and experience with tools, techniques and practices for ensuring a safe and harm-free environment for patients; ability to recognize risks and take steps to minimize them.

. Care Coordination – Knowledge of the medical, social, economic, and other services provided by other departments or facilities, and the ability to integrate these multidisciplinary treatments for optimal patient care.

. Clinical Policies and Standards – Knowledge of all clinical standards and policies set for a healthcare environment; ability to use industry standards, policies and procedures in the processes of clinical practice.

. Patient Rights – Knowledge of principles and practices associated with the rights and responsibilities of patients and caregivers; ability to apply these theories to identify, report, deal with and prevent patient rights violations.
