Coding Trainer – Full Time – Days

Position Highlights
- Work location: Remote, however, needs to be local to DFW area for meetings and training
- Work hours: Monday-Friday 8 hours per day between 8:00 am – 4:30 pm

What You Need
Education
Associate’s Degree Healthcare admin or HIM related required OR
H.S. Diploma or Equivalent 6 Years Relevant experience in lieu of degree required AND
Bachelor’s Degree preferred
Experience
4 Years Physician coding experience (may include charge capture coding, auditing and/or denials related coding) with associate’s degree required OR
6 Years Physician coding experience (may include charge capture coding, auditing and/or denials related coding) with no degree required
1 Year Experience related to creation of educational/presentation materials/PowerPoints related to Physician coding and documentation Preferred
1 Year Public speaking and/or Training experience Preferred
1 Year Professional Medical Auditing experience Preferred
Licenses and Certifications
CPC – Certified Professional Coder Upon Hire Required
Other CPMA or CEMC Upon Hire Required
Other specialty coding credentials Upon Hire Preferred
Skills
· Strong attention to detail with excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to research coding, documentation and payor requirements, prepare training materials, and present information to varying levels of staff, providers and leadership
· Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint;
· Ability to multi-task and work independently in a fast-paced environment
· Knowledge of revenue cycle processes
· Familiarity with Electronic Health Record and patient accounting systems; EPIC preferred
· Advanced knowledge of medical terminology, ICD-10 and CPT-4 codes required
· Comfortable with public speaking and addressing groups of various sizes
What You Will Do
· Provides ongoing education to THPG providers; training, monitoring and feedback to all Coding & Reimbursement Department staff
· Assists CRD management team with employee development and training materials
· Assists the management team in quality and organizational improvement
· Special Projects
· Manages additional staff as assigned to assist in the performance of quality assurance audits, special projects or in the training and transition of CRD staff for coverage of additional specialties within CRD for the implementation of new/additional service lines.
