- Work location: Texas Health Southwest, 6100 Harris Parkway, Fort Worth, TX 76132

- Work hours: PRN, Minimum of 1 shift every other week, 8-hour shifts, 8:30AM-5:00PM, as well as filling in as needed to cover

Here’s What You Need
· Associate degree from an accredited Nursing program OR Nursing Diploma
· BSN is preferred
· One-year (1) Year Experience as a Registered Nurse (RN) or completion of an RN residency program, or a THR residency program Required
· One year of Lactation or Neonatal ICU/NICU RN experience strongly preferred
· BCLS – Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly Required
· NRP – Neonatal Resuscitation Program within 90 days
· CPI – Crisis Prevention Intervention Training Maintained Annually 90 Days Required
· IBCLC – International Board-Certified Lactation Consultant within 2 Years Required (strongly prefer certification upon hire)
· A high degree of confidentiality, positive interpersonal skills, and ability to function in a fast-paced environment.
What You Will Do
• Both inpatient and outpatient services – working with both Maternal/Newborn and NICU patients
• Functions as an expert resource on breastfeeding issues for patients, families, community, staff, and physicians
• Serves as a clinical expert for lactation issues based on evidence
• Produces documentation that initiates, follows and revises patient’s plan of care
• Collaborates with the multidisciplinary team to improve care processes that promote continuity of care
Reviews patient medications for potential complications associated with breastfeeding
• Assesses outpatients for symptoms of jaundice and breastfeeding problems
• Participates in breast pump rental and retail sales within the Breastfeeding Resource Center
