Qualifications
Here’s What You Need:
Education
· High School Diploma or Equivalent Experience in lieu of Degree Required or Bachelor’s Degree Required.
· Bachelor’s Degree Required.
Experience
· 3 years of Emergency Management in a Healthcare, Corporate, Government, or closely related environment with a Bachelor’s Degree Required OR
· 7 years of Emergency Management in a Healthcare, Corporate, Government, or closely related environment without a Bachelor’s Degree Required AND
Licenses and Certifications
· CHEM – Certified Healthcare Emergency Manager 2 years Required OR
· CEM – Certified Emergency Manager 2 years Required AND
· HAZWOPER – Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response Preferred.
Skills
· Proficiency with Microsoft Office Tools (i.e. PowerPoint, Word, Excel etc.) is required. Excellent Communication and organizational skills are critical. This position is required to be on call and available 24/7 during a disaster.
What You Will Do:
· Provide guidance and subject matter expertise to assigned Safety/Security and Emergency Management personnel in Emergency Management to include Incident Command, training and exercises, Emergency Management plan analysis and development. Analyze initiatives and contingency plans to ensure the appropriate preparation, prevention, mitigation, response and recovery actions are possible.
· May assume Incident Command (IC) or IC support role during emergencies. Establish initial operational coordination of incident, providing direction and oversight for response as required from notification through incident close-out.
· Serve as a system resource to plan, develop and execute annual exercises. Coordinate system participation in local and regional exercises. Participate in entities emergency management committee or task groups for planning, coordinating, and updating of EM programs.
· Demonstrate and apply working knowledge of OSHA regulations, Homeland Security Guidelines, the Joint Commission standards; to include safety, risk management, security, medical equipment, hazardous materials, utilities and Emergency Management.
· Conduct, coordinate and/or oversee Emergency Management training and education initiatives across the system.
· Liaison/Interface with local, regional and state health and first response agencies/organizations to improve system safety and regional preparedness.
· Coordinate the collection of system-wide regulatory required information. Coordinate the routine, use and testing, and collection of system-wide EM equipment and inventories.
· Provide warnings and emergency data to the system for operational and technical support to leadership before, during and after emergencies.
· Mentor students, interns, and other applicable staff on the roles and responsibilities of emergency management.
