· Work location: Primary location is Texas Health Sports Medicine Fort Worth, 800 5th Avenue Suite 150, Fort Worth, TX 76104.
· Texas Health Sports Medicine Southwest – nationally known work/education program
Work hours: Full-time, 40+ hours/week, Monday-Friday 8AM-6PM.
Physical Therapy Orthopedic Residency Program highlights:

Outpatient physical therapy clinic has 18 treatment table and 2 private treatment rooms.
Deliver care for active individuals across the lifespan.
Here’s What You Need
· Bachelor’s Degree Healthcare related field Required And
Other Doctor of Physical Therapy upon hire Required.
· PT – Physical Therapist Texas – Physical Therapy License within 30 days Required.
· BCLS – Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly Required.
· Great communication skills and interest in sports medicine or orthopedics.
What You Will Do
· Patient Assessment/Plan of Care:
Prepares patient for treatment using appropriate draping and positioning.
Provide functional mobility training, gait training, exercise programs and ADL training.
Provides set up of all equipment necessary to perform assessments and treatments.
· Will observe physicians in clinic and surgery, attend didactic sessions on orthopedic topics, and contribute to weekly journal club sessions.
· Assistance with clinical research and motion analysis lab:
Participation in data collection of motion analysis studies in the evaluation of the upper and lower extremity to include set up, breakdown, and analysis of movement
Participation in design, review of literature, data collection and synthesis of clinical research studies.
· Professional Accountability:
Maintains, documents and communicates current CPR and education requirements and obtains all training and education required by the system, hospital and department.
Utilizes available resources to maximize efficiency and productivity and meet departmental needs.
Participates in orientation and training of therapy technicians, students, volunteers, and observers.
Represents department in a positive manner in the hospital, system, and community.
Completes assigned work within scheduled hours and offers assistance to others to ensure departmental work is accomplished.
Seeks assistance/supervision/consultation as needed and reports to physical therapy residency director any problems and/or solutions regarding delivery of patient care.
· Participation in clinical mentoring and education from Texas Health Sports Medicine Physical Therapy Residency Faculty:
Clinical mentoring with Sports Physical Therapy Faculty to include physical therapists and sports medicine physicians
Resident will participate in weekly educational sessions to enhance knowledge of sports medicine.
