We’re looking for a highly motivated, high energy and qualified Department Assistant to join our Texas Health family.

 

Position Highlights

·        Work location: Texas Health Stephenville 411 Belknap Stephenville, TX 76401

·        Work hours:  Part Time; 24 Hours/week; Monday, Tuesday & Thursday; 8a-4:30p

What You Will Do:

The Department Assistant is responsible for performing various clerical duties to support the operations of the cardiac rehabilitation department. This role involves managing appointments, handling incoming calls, and providing administrative support to ensure efficient workflow and positive client interactions.

  • Greet and acknowledge patients and guests.
  • Assists in daily operations of the office.
  • Perform clerical duties such as answering the telephone, billing, coding, data entry, and word processing.
  • Provide various administrative clinic services e.g. charge capture, admissions, scheduling, insurance verification.
  • Complete daily tasks using office equipment like computers, printers, and fax machines.
  • Uses various word processing software applications e.g. Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook to manage calendars, schedule meetings, process forms, produce standard reports and correspondence.
  • Plan, organize, and prioritize tasks to meet department needs.
  • Perform pre-authorizations for prospective patients and verify financial responsibility.
  • Conduct outpatient client registration and order supplies.
  • Perform daily charge reconciliations.
  • Provide clerical support for the department Manager as assigned.
  • Demonstrate effective communication skills and promote a positive work atmosphere.
  • Assists departmental Manager and staff with special projects.

Here’s What You Need:

·        Education

·         H.S. Diploma or Equivalent required

·        Experience

·         1 Year Office experience Preferred

·      

Skills and Abilities:

·        Requires good written, oral, and telephone communication skills.

·        Requires knowledge of general office equipment, PC’s and associated software packages.

·        General knowledge of medical terminology preferred.
