Registered Nurse (RN) – Emergency Department – Full-time – MAGNET, Level I Trauma Center
Fast-paced, high volume ED department is looking for top skilled nurses. Is that you?
Work location: Texas Health Fort Worth, 1304 Pennsylvania Ave, Fort Worth, TX 76104
Work hours: Full-time, 36 hours weekly, 3 x 12 hours shifts, 7 pm – 7 am
Department Highlights
- 100-bed Marion Emergency Care, 75,000 square foot Level I Trauma center
- For minor care needs, the ED offers a Quick Care area designed to expedite care and patient experience. Those requiring more extensive workups will be taken to one of the diagnostic rooms.
- Patients with critical injuries or illnesses are treated in one of 22 Emergent Care rooms, including three resuscitation rooms for the most severe trauma cases.
- ER has a dedicated area for comprehensive, compassionate care of sexual assault victims.

Here’s what you need
- Nursing Diploma or Associate Degree in Nursing required; BSN preferred
- CLIAFE – Must comply with CLIA regulations regarding foreign education equivalency required
- Current RN licensure or compact licensure recognized by the Texas Board of Nursing upon hire required
- BCLS – prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly required
- ACLS – within 90 days required
- PALS – within 90 days required
- TNCC or ATCN – within 12 months of hire required
- CPI – Crisis Prevention Intervention Training – within 60 days of hire
- 1-year experience as a registered nurse or completion of an RN residency program required
- Current ED strongly preferred – will consider ICU experience
In addition to the required qualifications, a successful RN will
- demonstrate a high degree of confidentiality, positive interpersonal skills, and ability to function in a fast-paced environment.
- maintain a positive, customer-focused attitude toward patients
- possess a strong work ethic and always display a high level of professionalism
- have basic computer skills using medical management application systems
What You Will Do
Delivers care to patients utilizing the Nursing Process
• assesses the patient
• plans the care of the patient
• intervenes as appropriate
• evaluates the effectiveness of interventions
• Incorporates age specific safety/infection control measures into patient care.
• Initiates action to meet patient and/or significant others need for information
• Maintains continuity of patient care inter-shift, inter-hospital, and while expediting out of hospital transfers
