Oh baby, We Have Expanded!

  • Work location: Texas Health Southwest, 6100 Harris Parkway, Fort Worth, TX 76132
  • Work hours: PRN I: On an as needed basis, 1 shift per 6-week schedule, no weekends and no holidays; 7:00AM-7:00PM

Labor & Delivery Department highlights:

  • Mother friendly designated, a Texas 10-Step designated, and a Magnet designated facility

·        Newly Expanded Labor & Delivery Unit to a 15-bed LDR and 3 OR suites

·        Separate 26-bed Mother/Baby area and a 16-bed Level III NICU

·        We average 285-300 deliveries a month

Here’s What You Need

·        Associate degree from an accredited Nursing program OR Nursing Diploma Required

·        Bachelor’s degree in nursing (BSN) preferred

·        RN – Registered Nurse Upon Hire required

·        One-year (1) Year Experience as a Registered Nurse (RN) Required

·        More than 1 year of Labor & Delivery RN experience strongly preferred

·        BCLS – Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly Required

·        ACLS – Advanced Cardiac Life Support within 90 days of hire required

·        NRP – Neonatal Resuscitation Program within 90 days

·        NRPA – Advanced Neonatal Resuscitation Program 90 Days Required

·        AWHONN – Advanced Fetal Monitoring 6 Months Required Or
IFM – Intermediate Fetal Monitoring 6 Months Required

·        CPI – Crisis Prevention Intervention Training Maintained Annually 90 Days Required

·        Ability to triage, labor, deliver, circulate and recover patients

·        A high degree of confidentiality, positive interpersonal skills, and ability to function in a fast-paced environment.

 

What You Will Do

Delivers care to patients utilizing the Nursing Process

·        Assesses the patient

·        Plans the care of the patient

·        Intervenes as appropriate

·        Evaluates the effectiveness of interventions

·        Incorporates age specific safety/infection control measures into patient care.

·        Initiates action to meet patient and/or significant others need for information

·        Maintains continuity of patient care inter-shift, inter-hospital, and while expediting out of hospital transfers.
