Speech Language Pathologist (SLP)

Great flexible opportunity in an acute care setting!
· Work location: Texas Health Ft. Worth, 1301 Pennsylvania Avenue, Ft. Worth, TX 76104
· Therapy Services
- Work hours: On an as needed basis: must sign up for 2 weekend days per quarter on call (submit 4 dates you are available and then you are scheduled for 2 of those dates)
- Weekend on call is from 8 am – 10 am for new stroke evals that have failed a nursing swallow screen, discharge pending patients, and newly extubated patient.
- Major holiday on-call requirement: in a rotating list to where you work 1 major holiday every several (between 3 to 4) years.

· Supportive team in an acute care trauma hospital.
Here’s What You Need
· Master’s Degree Speech Language Pathology Required Or
Other Post-Baccalaureate degree recognized by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association Required
· SLP Experience with adult population, acute care hospital-based, inpatient setting.
· SLP – Speech Language Pathology Texas Speech Language Pathology License Upon Hire Required Or
SLP-I – Speech Language Pathology Intern Texas Speech Language Pathology Intern License Upon Hire Required
SLP – Speech Language Pathology Texas Speech Language Pathology License Upon Hire Preferred
· Need to have clinical certificate of competence CCC-SLP And
· BCLS – Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly Required.
· Good verbal and written communication skills in English.
· Problem- solving ability; Ability to teach others.
· Time management skills; Good interpersonal and customer service skills, Basic leadership skills.
What You Will Do
· Performs age-appropriate patient assessment and establishes plan of care.
· Uses therapeutic treatment techniques appropriate to patient age and desire for treatment.
· Educates patient and family through instruction, demonstration, and/or appropriate handouts in treatment plan, safety issues, home
programs/self-management and assistive equipment.
· Documents all aspects of assessment, plan of care, and re-certifications in accordance with departmental, TJC, Medicare, and other applicable regulatory guidelines.
· Works in partnership with peers, other disciplines, and departmental personnel
