Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) – Emergency Department (ED)

Work location: Texas Health Dallas, 8200 Walnut Hill Ln, Dallas, TX 75231

Work hours: Full Time/Night Shifts; (7P-7A); Weekend and holiday requirements

 

Emergency Department Highlights:

·         Self-Scheduling that helps with work/life balance as well as opportunities for educational and career growth

·         Robust Unit Based Council (UBC) and engaged leadership team

·         Fast-Paced, high-volume department averaging 200 patients/day

Here’s What You Need:

·         LVN – Licensed Vocational Nurse upon hire required and

·         6 months in acute care hospital setting or completion of THR residency program required

·         1 year experience in an Emergency Department Acute Care setting preferred

·         BCLS – Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly required and

·         NRP – Essential Neonatal Resuscitation Program within 90 days required and

·         CPI – Crisis Prevention Intervention Training maintained annually within 90 days required and

·         A high degree of confidentiality, positive interpersonal skills, and ability to function in a fast-paced environment.

 

What You Will Do:

·         Collaborates with team to facilitate hourly rounding and initiates action to meet patient and/or significant others need for information.

·         Takes action to reduce/eliminate patient risks.

·         Collects data and reports significant findings to RN.

·         Safely administers medication in accordance with medication administration guidelines..

·         Uses nursing model to obtain adequate data to initiate, implement, and revise plan of care to meet patient, physician, and family needs.
