Qualifications

Education

·       Bachelor’s Degree in MT program or equivalent Science Required

 

*Job requirements posted as MLS – This department will also consider MLT with an Associates Degree.*

 

Experience

·       1 Years Hospital Experience or Medical Laboratory Preferred

 

Licenses and Certifications

 

·       MT(ASCP) – Medical Technologist 90 Days required or

·       MLS(ASCP) – Medical Lab Scientist  90 Days required or

·       Other AMT, AAB, HHS, NCA, HEW, CLS- CA, FL, NY state license, Philippine Board of Technical Technology required upon hire or

 

What You Will Do

·       Follow established laboratory procedures for specimen handling, processing, and test analysis.

·       Adhere to laboratory quality control policies, document all quality control activities and corrective action.

·       Adhere to all laboratory policies for established acceptability for proficiency testing, corrective actions and resolution of deficiencies.

·       Communicates directly with clinicians regarding critical lab results and patient care.

·       Operates, calibrates, and conducts performance checks on laboratory equipment in accordance with lab policies and vendor requirements.

·       Demonstrates competency in all areas of the laboratory for which patient test reports are issued.

·       Other duties as assigned
