- Associates Degree Related field (preferred)
- Graduate of accredited ultrasound technology program (preferred)
- 1 Year Related experience in a Vascular Laboratory (required) and
- RVT – Registered Vascular Technologist Upon Hire (required) or
- RVS – Registered Vascular Sonographer Upon Hire (required)
- Minimum 2 years’ experience with abi’s, cerebral, abdominal, upper/lower peripheral venous and arterial imaging (strongly preferred)
- Experience with US guided RFA’s (preferred).
- BLS certification (strongly preferred)
- Reliable transportation required
- Possess an excellent working knowledge of cardiac and pulmonary anatomy/pathology, the cardiac patient, and treatment of cardiac diseases
- Have working knowledge of vascular arterial and venous anatomy for carotid and peripheral vasculature
- Have excellent communication skills
- Have good computer skills
- Possess a strong work ethic and a high level of professionalism
- Delivers care to patients utilizing the Registered Vascular Technician Process to include:
- Will perform diagnostic bilateral/ unilateral carotid, arterials and venous studies of upper and lower extremities of patients with suspected peripheral vascular disease by following ICAVL guidelines.
- Conducts vascular laboratory studies in accordance with the vascular laboratory protocols.
- Explains procedures to patient to obtain cooperation and reduce anxieties of patient. Communicates with physicians, managers, and co-workers as appropriate about changes in patient’s clinical conditions while undergoing vascular procedures
- Maintains the vascular laboratory quality assurance database..
- Reviews test results with interpreting physician.
- Ensures that all vascular laboratory studies are scheduled in an appropriate manner to satisfy the clinical situation.
- Prepares and maintains operations logs and calibrates and maintains equipment, and order supplies when necessary.
