· Work location: Texas Health Ft. Worth, 1301 Pennsylvania Avenue, Ft. Worth, TX 76104
- Work environment: Cardiothoracic Surgery/Cardiology
- Work hours: PRN: On an as needed basis 10-hour Shifts, 6:30AM-4:30PM, Monday-Friday, possible weekend coverage in the future, no major holidays. Vacation coverage. On average 2-3 shifts per month.

Here’s What You Need
· Bachelor’s Degree Graduate of an accredited nursing program (BSN) Required And
· Master’s Degree Graduate of a Nurse Practitioner (NP) program Required
· RN – Registered Nurse upon hire required (licensure or compact licensure recognized by the Texas Board of Nursing)
· APRN – Advanced Practice Nurse Upon Hire Required And
NP – Nurse Practitioner Upon Hire Required (Must be Acute Care N.P.) and
· Other must be credentialed by Medical Staff Services Upon Hire Required And
· BCLS – Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly Required
ACLS – Advanced Cardiac Life Support within 90 days is required
2 Years’ Experience as a Nurse Practitioner strongly preferred
· Two (2) years’ experience in cardiothoracic surgical/cardiology background as RN/NP
· RN/NP Experience with cardiac Cath lab patients and cardiothoracic surgery patients
· Demonstrate a high degree of confidentiality, positive interpersonal skills, and ability to function in a fast-paced environment.
What You Will Do:
· Skill Set: A&P’s – assessments, progress, discharges, education of patients; pull chest tubes, perform stress tests
· Utilizes principles and skills in communication and interviewing techniques in obtaining a comprehensive health history to formulate a plan of care and make decisions for appropriate therapeutic interventions
· Basic computer skills using medical management application systems – EPIC/Care Connect
· Performs specialty specific technical procedures safely and proficiently
· Utilizes evidenced based practice
· Demonstrates contribution to unit-based programs and research strategies to monitor and continuously improve the quality of patient care
· Flexible with scheduling to meet the department and patient needs
