Work location: Texas Health Flower Mound, 4400 Long Prairie Road, Flower Mound, TX 75028

Work hours:  Friday – 11:00pm-7:00am; Saturday – 7:00pm-7:00am; Sunday – 7:00pm-11:00pm

Must be available for 1 week of system training at 612 E Lamar Blvd, Arlington, TX 76011 and at least, two weeks of classroom training required Monday – Friday from 8:30 AM – 5:00pm PM at 500 E Border, Arlington, TX; Training weeks may not be consecutive.

Qualifications – External

Here’s What You Need:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent REQUIRED
  • One year of experience as a Dispatcher, Communication Specialist, Customer Service Representative or similar position in a communication or dispatch center REQUIRED
  • Two years of Hospital experience (preferred)

 

What You Will Do:

Routine calls for multiple Texas Health entities via integrated console system.

  • Answers incoming calls to the hospital switchboard in a timely manner, directing calls to the correct location or assisting with needed phone numbers.
  • Answers questions regarding basic operation of telephone system.
  • Transfers calls to appropriate departments for problem resolution as needed.

Paging

  • Overhead pages to locate physicians and relay approved information to employees and visitors.
  • Documents all page requests either automatically through paging system and/or manually using written records.
  • Managing the pager inventory.

Codes & Alarms

  • Learns, monitors, acknowledges, and responds to all alarms and codes calmly and in a systematic, defined manner, following all procedures accurately and according to hospital policy.
  • Implements medical emergency codes via pagers, overhead paging, cell phones, etc.
  • Accurately documents all codes.
