Registered Nurse (RN) – Trauma Quality Improvement Coordinator – Full-time, Days – MAGNET Hospital, Level I Trauma Center 

We’re looking for qualified Registered Nurse like you to join our Texas Health family as a Trauma Quality Improvement Coordinator working with our Certified Level I Trauma center

  • Work location: Texas Health Fort Worth, 1304 Pennsylvania Ave, Fort Worth, TX 76104
  • Work environment: Trauma Administration at Texas Health Fort Worth, a Magnet designated Hospital, Level I Trauma Center and Certified Level I Trauma center, conveniently located close to downtown Fort Worth. 
  • Work hours: Full-time, 40 hours weekly, mostly daytime hours. 

Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital Fort Worth is a 815-bed, Magnet-designated regional referral center that has served the residents of Tarrant County and surroundings communities since 1930. Hospital services include cardiovascular care, high-risk obstetrics, gynecology, orthopedics and sports medicine, neonatal intensive care, and trauma/emergency medicine. In early 2014, Texas Health Fort Worth opened a new 75,000 square foot Emergency Services Center, one of the largest in the region. Texas Health Fort Worth has more than 4,000 employees, 200 volunteers and nearly 1,000 physicians on its medical staff. Texas Health Fort Worth recently received national recognition for its oncology program and was named “Best Place to Have a Baby” in Tarrant County. The hospital is also a designated Cycle III Chest Pain Center by the Society of Chest Pain Centers

Here’s what you need

  • ADN required; BSN preferred
  • Current RN licensure or compact licensure recognized by the Texas Board of Nursing upon hire
  • TCRN – Trauma Certified RN upon hire preferred
  • Other TOPIC course completion 12 Months Req 
  • BCLS – Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly Req 
  • ACLS – Advanced Cardiac Life Support 90 Days Req 
  • PALS – Pediatric Advanced Life Support 90 Days Req And TOPIC course completion within 12 months required
  • 3-years’ experience in surgical care, critical care and/or emergency care with an interest in trauma care required
  • 1 year experience and expertise in quality management and data analysis preferred
  • 2-years of Trauma experience preferred
  • 2-year PI (Performance/Quality Improvement) preferred

The successful RN will have the following skills:

  • Demonstrated expertise in analysis, facilitation, data collection, aggregation and display techniques utilizing spreadsheet applications.
  • Working knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy and physiology and ICD-10 / DRG nomenclature.
  • Ability to organize and analyze statistical information.
  • Must have excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate with medical and hospital staff. Requires a self-directed, independent, and goal-oriented individual.
  • Advanced computer skills to develop statistical process control charts preferred with the ability to gain working knowledge of executive management system.
