CT Technologist Lead- Full Time/ Days

Work hours: Full Time (36 Hour) Day Shift; 0600 – 1530 Monday through Friday; No Call required

Qualifications – External
Team Leader Responsibilities:
1. Oversee daily operations of all assigned areas
2. Monitor, manage, and approve staffing levels
3. Provide leadership to employees of assigned areas
4. Participate in employee evaluations and coaching/counseling sessions of assigned areas
5. Ensure patient satisfaction of assigned areas
6. Coordinate with other departments when services are requested of assigned areas
7. Communicate department initiatives and performance of assigned areas
8. Works closely with physicians and other stakeholders requesting services of assigned areas
9. Participate in department budgeting process and supply ordering
10. Participate in equipment evaluation and oversee training of new equipment
11. Participate in hospital and department committees
12. Work closely with department manager
13. Any additional duties as assigned by department manager
Imaging Procedures, Quality and Processing
1. Explains procedures to patient or guardian / family member if applicable prior to exam
2. Positions patient to correct anatomical area of interest
3. Performs complex procedures including age related criteria and developmental considerations
4. Adjusts technique parameters appropriately for age related factors
5. Assists radiologist with complex and invasive procedures using aseptic technique
6. Maintains attention to details
7. Processes and manipulates images, analyzes image quality, troubleshoots, makes technique adjustments or repeat procedures as needed 8. Utilizes proper downtime procedures for PACS and HIS / RIS
9. Correctly sends and transfers images to PACS
10. Prints laser images from modality or PACS
11. Coordinates with Centralized Scheduling and other modalities
Patient Care
1. Uses multidisciplinary, team-oriented actions
2. Assesses and recognizes the patient’s emotional, physical, developmental, cognitive and psychosocial conditions
3. Prepares room for examination (i.e. suction, oxygen, supplies)
4. Checks physician orders and exam requisitions using time-out procedures
5. Greets and acknowledges patient, using two forms of ID
6. Obtains patient history
7. Handles patients with IVs, oxygen, chest tubes or other devices, and monitor patient during imaging
8. Demonstrates knowledge of emergency drugs and equipment
9. Uses proper body mechanics when assisting patient
10. Administers contrast media and other medications in accordance with medication administration guidelines
11. Processes patient information, displays proper phone etiquette and transports patients as needed
12. Communicates respectfully with co-workers and other departments 10%
Equipment Operation and Maintenance
1. Adjusts technical factors
2. Operates, cares for and maintains equipment
3. Applies knowledge of physics and accessories
4. Troubleshoots and properly documents equipment malfunction
5. Maintains equipment and room to sanitary standards between patients (injectors, table tops, floors)
6. Stocks supplies daily
7. Exchanges and maintenance of film badges within designated time frames
8. Demonstrates the knowledge and understanding of quality control and regulatory standards
9. Productive during periods of decreased work flow
Professional Accountability and Partnership
1. Maintains and enhances technical skills and technology advancement
2. Attends departmental continuing education, meetings, and checks email in a timely manner
3. Identifies, troubleshoots and initiates quality improvement
4. Manages time and re-prioritizes as necessary
5. Performs any assignment deemed necessary by supervisor
Education
Other Graduate of an accredited school of radiologic technology Required Or
Associate’s Degree Preferred
Experience
2 Years experience in CT Required and
hospital experience Preferred
Leadership Experience Preferred
Licenses and Certifications
ARRT – American Registry of Radiologic Technologists R Upon Hire Required And
ARRT – American Registry of Radiologic Technologists CT Upon Hire Required And
CMRT – Certified Medical Radiologic Technologist either by the TDH or TMB Upon Hire Required And
BCLS – Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly Required
Skills
computer skills, communication skills to include speaking and understanding English language, excellent customer service skills. Prefer venipuncture
