Registered Nurse (RN) Maternal Newborn

Maternal Level IV designated facility is looking for top skilled Mother/Baby nurses.  Is that you?

 

·        Work location: Texas Health Ft. Worth, 1300 Pennsylvania Avenue, Fort Worth, TX 76104

·        The Women’s Center at Texas Health Ft. Worth, a MAGNET, and Texas 10-Step facility, has been named “Best Place to Have a Baby” and Maternal Level IV designated facility

 

Work hours: Full Time Nights (6:30PM-7AM) for 36 hours/week, with Weekend and holiday requirements

 

Maternal/Newborn, Couplet Care Department highlights:

·        Self-Scheduling that helps with work/life balance as well as opportunities for educational and career growth

·        Robust Unit Based Council (UBC) and engaged leadership team

·        27-bed Maternal/Newborn unit

·        Average between 275 to 300 deliveries per month

·        Utilize the following skills: Breastfeeding education/resources, responsible for both mom and baby (Couplet Care)

Here’s What You Need

·        Associate degree from an accredited Nursing program OR Nursing Diploma required

·        BSN is preferred

·        One-year experience as a Registered nurse (RN), or completion of an RN residency program required.

·        One year or more of Mother/Baby, Couplet Care RN experience strongly preferred

·        BCLS – Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly Required

·        NRP – Neonatal Resuscitation Program within 90 days is required

·        CPI – Crisis Prevention Intervention Training Maintained Annually 90 Days Required

·        Demonstrate a high degree of confidentiality, positive interpersonal skills, and ability to function in a fast-paced environment.

 

 

What You Will Do

Delivers care to patients utilizing the Nursing Process

·        Assesses the patient

·        Plans the care of the patient

·        Intervenes as appropriate

·        Evaluates the effectiveness of interventions

·        Incorporates age specific safety/infection control measures into patient care.

·        Initiates action to meet patient and/or significant others need for information

·        Maintains continuity of patient care inter-shift, inter-hospital, and while expediting out of hospital transfers.
