Texas Health has been named to the 75 Best Large Workplaces for Women list by Fortune and Great Place to Work® – taking the No. 5 spot. This is our third consecutive year to be recognized on this list. The winners are selected from organizations that embrace transparency and are committed to creating a great workplace.
Texas Health is the top ranked health system on the list, as well as the highest ranking Texas-based organization.
The rankings for the Best Workplaces for Women are based on feedback from employee surveys. Participants answered questions about a variety of topics, including being treated with respect, opportunities for professional development and teamwork.
This award is especially meaningful for Texas Health since almost 80 percent of our employees are female. Texas Health offers women amazing career opportunities in a supportive environment. Texas Health offers a maternity support program, tuition reimbursement for mothers who want to go back to school after starting a family, flexible working hours and onsite child care at some locations. Our focus on employee health is reflected in offerings such as Walkingspree, fitness centers at certain locations and health fairs throughout the system. In addition, our Be Healthy initiative provides a $25 reward for getting an annual mammogram.
