Transitional Registered Nurse Program

Are you an experienced RN looking for a great opportunity to expand your nursing knowledge and transition into a new specialty area? Our transitional RN program is just what you’re looking for.

Quick Overview

Our Transitional RN Program provides a structured orientation that includes:

  • fundamental specialty classes,
  • web-based training, and
  • clinical time on the unit with a preceptor.

Each transitional RN will receive an individualized learning plan developed by the program manager in collaboration with the specialty area educator and department leader.

All transitional nurses will complete the department competencies as assigned.

Registered Nurses that are not currently a Texas Health Nurse must complete orientation the week prior to starting a Transitional Nurse Program.
