Hospital Earns Its Fourth Pathway Designation
The American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) has recognized Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital Cleburne for the fourth time as a Pathway to Excellence® hospital.
The designation honors a healthcare organization’s “commitment to creating a positive practice environment that empowers and engages staff,” according to the ANCC website. Texas Health Cleburne first received the designation in 2011 and was re-designated in 2015 and 2018.

The long application highlighted examples of how the hospital meets the six practice standards for an ideal working environment: shared decision-making, leadership, safety, quality, well-being and professional development.
Members of the coordinating committee, along with Brockman, were Pathway to Excellence Coordinator Stephanie Perez-Montelongo M.S., APRN, NP-C; Pam Chenault, M.S.N., B.A., R.N., CMSRN, RNBC; Melissa Townley, M.S.N., R.N., CMSRN; Mellanie Keever, B.S.N., RNC-OB; Tera Zander, M.S.N., R.N., CNL, ONC; Ronda Dillard, B.S.N., R.N.; and Janet Shoppell, administrative assistant. Nine of Texas Health’s wholly owned hospitals have achieved the Pathway to Excellence recognition. There are more than 100 Pathway to Excellence-recognized healthcare organizations worldwide. Five Texas Health hospitals have received another ANCC designation, Magnet®, which recognizes quality patient care, nursing excellence and innovations in nursing practice.
Congratulations to all!
