Streamlining Patient Care

Texas Health Denton Gets Hybrid Imaging Suite

A new hybrid suite in imaging at Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital Denton is designed with patients in mind, now more than ever.

With older machines, patients had to be moved around for imaging. In the new suite, the unit flips and spins around the patient. The new suite is especially suited for patients from the Emergency Department who come to the hospital with various injuries and illnesses.

“This allows us to work around stretchers and wheelchairs – the camera moves around them,” said Cardell Velez, director of radiology at the hospital.

The machine also has fluoroscopy capability.

“We’ve been working on getting this for the last three years,” he said, adding that the machine is quicker than the old one, so patients are in and out of imaging at a faster pace.
