What did you want to be as a kid, and how did you ultimately choose your career?
I’ve always loved solving problems and helping people, which naturally led me to healthcare. When I interviewed for a pharmacy intern position almost 10 years ago at Presbyterian Hospital of Rockwall, now known as Texas Health Hospital Rockwall, I found more than a job — I found mentors and a supportive community.
That moment sparked a calling that has stayed with me. I’m grateful to do work that truly makes a difference for the patients we serve.
How do you spend your days at work?
My mornings typically start with reviewing patient charts and identifying opportunities to optimize medication therapy. I participate in multidisciplinary rounds, collaborating closely with physicians, nurses and the broader care team.
Over the years, I’ve worked across various areas of Pharmacy, which allows me to adapt quickly and step in wherever I’m needed. Most of my day is spent in active collaboration and clinical discussion — all focused on ensuring we provide the highest quality care to every patient.
What’s your favorite part of your job, and what is the biggest challenge?
For me, it’s the relationships. The nurses, providers and staff I work with are truly incredible. I also value hearing patients’ stories and understanding the “why” behind our processes. Those connections are what make my work meaningful.
The greatest reward is seeing teamwork in action and watching it translate into better outcomes for the patients we serve.
How do you do your life’s best work at Texas Health?
I do my best work through collaboration. That is where meaningful impact truly happens. Much of my growth is thanks to the mentorship and encouragement I’ve received from leaders and colleagues over the years. I’ve been pushed outside my comfort zone in ways that challenged me and ultimately helped me grow professionally. Having that kind of support makes all the difference.
What’s something no one knows about you?
Outside of work, I have a creative side. I love playing the drums — I grew up with music and spent my high school years on the drum line. Life and family responsibilities have kept me busy lately, but I’m hopeful about reconnecting with that hobby in the future. These days, I most enjoy spending time with my beautiful wife and our three precious children. I truly believe God has guided my path, opening doors and shaping opportunities in ways I could never have orchestrated on my own.
