RN Registered Nurse / Full-Time / Employee Health

Work location: Texas Health HEB, 1600 Hospital Parkway Bedford, TX 76022

Work hours: Full-Time, 40 hours weekly, (8am – 4:30pm)Days; with Rotating Call (Call is rotating, after hours, holidays and weekends when needed.)  This position is Exempt (salaried).

Busy Employee Health office which COVID calls, flu shot deadlines, nursing assessments and mask fitting.   You’ll work with on-the-job injury situations, exposures, ADA, and modified duty. You’ll also administer new hire drug screens and health assessments including drawing blood.

Here’s What You Need

  • Associates in Nursing, ADN is required.  Bachelor’s Degree, Bachelor of Science in Nursing is preferred.
  • (3) years RN experience as a clinical nurse is required.
  • (3) years RN Med/Surg, Emergency Services or Occupational Health is preferred.
  • PC proficiency is highly preferred.  Experience with Microsoft Word, Outlook, Teams, and the ability to navigate an on-line platform is preferred.
  • Must hold an active RN license – Registered Nurse (RN) upon hire is required.
  • CPR – Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation is required upon hire.

 

In addition to the qualifications an RN in this role will practice within the regulations of the Texas Nurse Practice Act.   Serve as a role model, intra/interdisciplinary collaborator and coordinator for quality patient and healthcare worker care.  Possess organizational skills and be able to make clinical judgments independently.

What You’ll Do

Deploys components of the Employee Health Program.  Reviews and applies existing regulations, standards, and /or guidelines of applicable professional organizations, regulatory and governmental agencies. 

Administers periodic evaluations for employees and reviews work releases. Administers immunizations.  Provides care to workers injured or exposed on duty.  Collects drug screens.

Performs physical demands assessment.  Obtains lab specimen based on results of health history.  Collects drug screen.  Assesses the results of the assessment, lab, x-rays to determine fitness for duty and/or need for referral to healthcare provider.
