Work location: Texas Health HEB, 1600 Hospital Parkway Bedford, TX 76022

Work hours: Full-Time, Days Shift, 40 hours weekly; Monday – Friday 8am – 5pm

NICU Department highlights:

  • 16 bed NICU unit with an average of 200 deliveries a month
  • Level III NICU
  • Maternal Designation II

Here’s what you need

  • Bachelor’s Degree Nursing required; Master’s Degree preferred 
  • RN – Registered Nurse upon hire required

     

  • 3 years Neonatal experience required
  • BCLS – Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly required
  • NRP – Essential Neonatal Resuscitation Program 90 Days required
  • NRPA-Advanced Neonatal Resuscitation Program 90 Days required
  • Experience in project management
  • Computer skills in WORD, Excel, Power Point and Access
  • Advanced knowledge of current professional and health care issue and nursing practice
  • Effective leadership and interpersonal skills
  • Verbal and written communication skills in English

What You Will Do

LEADERSHIP
Provides leadership and vision for the Maternal Program in terms of operations, services and patient care, consistent with best practices and evidence-based care. Serves as the Maternal Program Manager for Maternal Levels of Care Designation.
Facilitates the linkage between strategic business lines and provision of an effective and efficient Maternal Program.
Be clinically active and practicing registered nurse participating in maternal care at facility where program manager services as provided
Demonstrates/models excellence in nursing practice through the utilization of advance concepts in the areas of assessment, diagnosis, implementation and evaluation of acute maternal patient care.
Maintains current knowledge of clinical practices in care of maternal patients.
Reviews implementation of maternal order protocols and follows up as needed to ensure compliance.

QUALITY
Has the authority and oversight responsibilities for the provision of maternal services through all phases of care including discharge and identifying variances in care for inclusion in the QAPI Plan and has the authority and responsibility to monitor the provision of maternal patient care services from admission, stabilization, operative intervention(s) if applicable, through discharge, and inclusive of the QAPI Plan.
Utilizes current research and evidence-based standards of practice to develop, analyze and coordinate a comprehensive plan of patient education activities, including goals assessment, planning, implementation, needed resources and evaluation methods to support improved patient outcomes.
Facilitates the Maternal QAPI Plan and multidisciplinary team Maternal QAPI meetings and case reviews.
Collects data and assists in the implementation of practice changes as needed, participates in the analysis of data.
Collaborates with the Maternal Medical Director in areas to include developing or revising policies procedures and guidelines; assuring staff competency, education and training and the QAPI Plan.
Assists in the development of appropriate policies and procedures required for the provision of effective and efficient maternal care.
Facilitates initiation and utilization of Plans of Care policies and procedures.

PARTNERSHIP
Develops and maintains collaborative partnerships with physicians, staff and peers to support the implementation, and on-going evaluation of care delivery.
Partners with Maternal Clinicians in the provision of care and follow-up of patients.
Facilitates completion of staff orientation and on-going staff development in terms of maternal program and care.

EDUCATION
Coordinates and facilitates provision of educational opportunities for staff, physicians, patients, external providers of care including EMS, and the community.
Identifies and pursues opportunities to provide information and/or services to the community to promote the entity.
Critically appraises data and implements findings in patient care decisions.
Exemplifies progress in professional role development through integration of educator and community roles.
Evaluates process, outcome and impact of educational activities.
Identifies/responds to patients, their significant others and staff requests for education. Assists in the development and implementation of a formalized patient education program.
