Physical Therapist- Full Time, Days

Here’s What You Need

• Bachelor’s Degree Completion of a Physical Therapy program is required

   

• Outpatient experience or New Grad with interest in Outpatient PT is strongly preferred
• PT – Physical Therapist Texas Physical Therapy License Upon Hire required And
• BCLS – Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly required
• Good verbal and written communication skills in English; Problem solving ability; Ability to teach others; Time management skills; Good interpersonal and customer service skills, Basic leadership skills
• While majority of time will be in outpatient, candidate must have a willingness to work regularly in acute inpatient care as well (will be trained as needed).

What You Will Do

• Assist in approximately 1 hour acute care inpatient coverage as needed on days worked.
• Performs age appropriate patient assessment and establishes plan of care
• Obtains/verifies physician order for therapy and validates for appropriateness
• Demonstrates competence in the performance of age appropriate patient assessment and individualizes care based on age specific needs.
• Educates patient and family through instruction, demonstration, and/or appropriate handouts in treatment plan, safety issues, home
• Motivates non-compliant or unmotivated patients to participate in therapy
• As required, participates appropriately in departmental safety drills / emergency procedures
• Documents and reports unusual occurrences, on the job injuries, and medical device malfunctioning
