Qualifications
-
Nursing Diploma or Associate Degree in Nursing required; BSN preferred
- RN – Registered Nurse Upon Hire required
- BCLS – Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly Upon Hire required
- CPI – Crisis Prevention Intervention Training Maintained Annually 90 Days Req
- ACLS – Advanced Cardiac Life Support 90 Days Req And
- TNCC – Trauma Nursing Core Course 12 Months Req And
- ENPC – Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course 12 Months Req Or
- PALS – Pediatric Advanced Life Support 90 Days Req
- 1 Year experience as a clinical nurse in an acute care setting required
- 2 years experience as a clinical nurse in an acute care setting preferred
- ED experience strongly preferred

The Charge Nurse role will support and actively participate in shared governance/councils which is Texas Health’s structure for decision making. This role directly assists leadership on a particular unit or units and shift, by offering staff guidance and support, maintaining a clean and safe work environment and ensuring unit operational tasks are completed. Individuals in this role will demonstrate:
