Here’s What You Need
- H.S. Diploma or Equivalent Required
- 1 Year in health care environment involving direct patient care Preferred
- BCLS – Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly Required And
- CCT – Certified Cardiographic Technician 6 Months Preferred Or
- NCET – Nationally Certified ECG Technician 6 Months Preferred
- ECG monitoring and knowledge of ECGs; computer skills; communication skills; high degree of confidentiality, positive interpersonal skills, and ability to function in a fast-paced environment.
What You Will Do
PATIENT CARE:
- Ensure the continuity of patient care using communication tools and electronic medical record.
- Identify patient using two patient identifiers.
- Explain procedures to patient and obtain patient consents.
- Ensure exam room is fully stocked and in order before patient arrival.
- Provides assistance to patient according to procedure being performed.
- Appropriately respond to patients in distress.
- Collects patient data, identifies and reports significant findings to nurse.
- Assists in admission/transfer discharge.
- Produces quality resting electrocardiograms (ECG) and ambulatory ECGs following department policies and procedures.
- Enters orders into computer or manual system if applicable.
- Documents accurately and appropriately.
- Adapts care to reflect patient population and incorporates cultural/religious needs and beliefs into delivery of care.
