Here’s What You Need
Nursing Diploma Nursing Required Or
Associate’s Degree Nursing Required Or
Bachelor’s Degree Nursing Preferred
1 Year Experience as a registered nurse or completion of an RN residency program Required
2 years of Labor and Delivery experience is highly preferred
RN – Registered Nurse Upon Hire Required And
BCLS – Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly Required And
ACLS – Advanced Cardiac Life Support within 90 Days Required And
NRP – Essential Neonatal Resuscitation Program within 90 Days Required
CPI – Crisis Prevention Intervention Training Maintained Annually within 90 Days Required and
NRPA-Advanced Neonatal Resuscitation Program within 90 Days Required And
IFM – Intermediate Fetal Monitoring if newly hired with experience in perinatal nursing AND never taken IFM within 6 Months Required Or
IFM – Intermediate Fetal Monitoring if no experience in perinatal nursing within 18 Months Required And
AWHONN – Advanced Fetal Monitoring after six months of working with EFM 18 Months Required

As a L&D nurse, you will focus on responding to others priorities regarding safety, physical and psychological needs while paying close attention to maintenance of comfort and human emotion during health and illness, while providing safe patient care.
