THFW VP & COO THFW

The Vice President & Chief Operating Officer of Texas Health Fort Worth will report directly to the President of the hospital. The VP & COO will be responsible for the day-to-day clinical and support operations of the hospital and as a member of Texas Health Fort Worth’s executive leadership team will participate in creating the vision, and long term and annual strategic, operating, and financial plans for the hospital. In their role as VP & COO the incumbent will work in close partnership with the President of Texas Health Fort Worth, key hospital officers, clinical chairs and other administrative and medical staff leaders to ensure the execution of plans of action to improve operations, work environment, organizational culture and structure and business development. Additionally, they will work cooperatively with THR System Services staff including Finance, People and Culture, Information Services, Supply Chain, Legal, Community Health, Managed Care and physician leaders toward the achievement of the organization’s mission to improve the health of the people in the communities served. The VP & COO will be responsible for the overall direction, management, operations, coordination, performance results and evaluation of all functions and departments reporting through Texas Health Fort Worth.

Essential Functions:

·        Manage hospital facility achievement in meeting or exceeding Key Performance Indicator targets.

·        Work closely with the President and other THR hospital leadership and THR staff and physicians to add value and professional expertise to new programs, market and physician development. Participate in and provide oversight for the development of business plans, joint ventures, etc.

·        Serve as Texas Health Fort Worth’s representative to joint ventures as assigned, ensuring performance meets targets and promotes integration of joint venture activity with hospital and strategic initiatives.

·        Direct responsibility for the risk management activities and structures in the hospital and for liaison with THR’s risk management activities.

·        Promotes compliance with regulations governing hospitals and ambulatory facilities and rules of accrediting bodies by monitoring operations and initiating changes where required.

·        Collaborate with the President and Chief Medical Officer on the development of the GME program.

Background, Qualifications and Experience:

  • Master’s degree in healthcare, Business (MHA, MBA or MS) required.
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or equivalent required.
  • 7 years senior-level healthcare manage0ment experience as an operations officer or administrative leader in an acute care hospital or integrated delivery system required.
  • Experience as CEO or COO at a 100-150+ bed hospital preferred.
  • Familiarity with medical research and post-graduate medical education preferred.
