Work location:   1300 West Terrell Avenue, Fort Worth, TX 76104
Work hours:  Full-time, 40 hours weekly, Monday thru Friday, Rotating Shifts: 
  • 7:00am – 4:30pm Monday – Thursday, 8:00am -12:00pm on Friday
  • 7:30pm – 5:00pm Monday – Thursday, 8:00am -12:00pm on Friday
  • 8:00am – 4:30pm Monday – Friday
  • 8:30am -5:00pm Monday – Friday
Travel:  50% to surrounding clinics as needed (mileage reimbursement provided; must have with reliable transportation to rotate between Cleburne, Southwest, Fort Worth & Lake Worth)

Here’s What You Need
  • Bachelor’s Degree Kinesiology, Exercise Physiology or related field (required)
  • EKG experience (preferred)
  • 3 months experience in Cardiac Rehab (preferred)
  • BCLS – Basic Cardiac Life Support and maintained Quarterly (required) And
  • ACLS – Advanced Cardiac Life Support within 90 Days of Hire (required) And
  • CCES – Certified Clinical Exercise Specialist Upon Hire (preferred) Or
  • RCEP – Registered Clinical Exercise Physiologist Upon Hire (preferred)
  • Possess advanced knowledge of cardiac rhythms, EKG interpretation, equipment used in stress testing, knowledge of the cardiovascular system, and adhere to patient safety goals
 
What You Will Do
  • Delivers care to patients utilizing the Exercise Physiologist Process.
Clinical Practice: 
  • Prep patients and perform regular stress tests, as well as nuclear PET/CTs (Positron Emission Tomography/Computed Tomography).
  • Assess patient health risks, needs, and interests. 
  • Exercise and pharmacologic stress test supervision, including preliminary test interpretation. 
  • Conducts fitness evaluations in accordance with testing guidelines and assist in the development of comprehensive individualized exercise program. 
  • Develops exercise prescriptions/programs tailored to the unique needs of the cardiovascular patient in accordance with the diagnosis and orders from the provider. 
  • Provides instruction necessary for the safe and effective performance of exercise activities, and promotion of secondary prevention to individuals who are limited by cardiac disease to improve functional capacity and lower cardiovascular risk factors. 
  • Demonstrates competence in the performance of age-appropriate patient treatment and individualizes care based on age specific needs. 
  • Competent in the use of obtaining accurate HR, BP, RR, and cardiac rhythm. 
  • Demonstrates proficiency in the setup and operation of all monitoring and exercise equipment. 
  • Plans, implements, evaluates documents patient education. 
  • Completes all documentation and written communication in a timely manner.
Accountability: 
  • Works with lab manager to maintain proper maintenance of testing equipment, and reports any malfunctions
  • Seeks assistance/ supervision/ consultation as needed and reports to supervisor any problems and/or solutions regarding patient care of status of equipment. 
  • Notifies physicians in a timely manner of problems of pertinent complication.
Administrative: 
  • Provides administrative support as needed, including assisting patients with receiving phone calls, providing information on cardiac rehab services, assists in scheduling appointments. 
  • Proficient in correct billing, charging and procedure documentation. 
  • Documents according to department guidelines as well as all unusual occurrences to system, hospital, and department guidelines. 
  • Assists with quality control procedures.
