- Certified Medical Transcriptionist (CMT) or equivalent Work Experience Upon Hire (preferred)
- Comprehensive knowledge of medical terminology.
- Demonstrated advanced typing skills.
- General office skills including proficient computer skills.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Possesses a strong work ethic and a high level of professionalism.
- A team player who handles multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
- Transcribes dictated reports accurately within established standards.
- Recognizes, interprets and evaluates inconsistencies, discrepancies and inaccuracies in medical text or dictation appropriately to clarify, flag, or report as needed.
- Translates medical jargon and abbreviations into their expanded form.
- Prioritizes dictated reports based on level of continuity of care needs.
- Edits for grammar and clarity, as necessary.
- Produces a variety of documents, including discharge summaries, history and physical examination reports, operative reports, consultation reports, autopsy reports, diagnostic imaging studies, progress notes and referral letters.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
