Here’s What You Need
- Bachelor’s Degree required
- 3 years direct proposal/grant writing experience required; preferably in healthcare environment
- Experience with public and private grants preferred
What You Will Do
This position is responsible for the development and compliance of significant donor proposals/grants that advance THR’s strategic initiatives. First and foremost, the grant writing specialist will develop compelling proposals/grants for five, six- and seven- figure gifts in support of THR’s strategic objectives. The grant writing specialist will partner with Foundation leadership, THR program directors, THR community health improvement staff, finance and hospital administration staff to develop proposals. The grant writing specialist will also be responsible for prospect research and post-award grant administration (of private funds) and develop other written materials, including grant reports, stewardship reports and board reports.
Annually, in collaboration with the Foundation’s Director of Community Impact and Grants, this position will be expected to meet or exceed fundraising key performance indicators as developed by Foundation leadership.
- Pre-award management-Responsible for pre-award grant administration (of both public and private funds). Leads project teams through program design, needs assessments, setting goals/objectives/outcomes, creation of logic models, preparation of project budgets, timelines, and evaluation plans.
- Post-award management-Responsible for post-award administration, including contract management, grant compliance, budget compliance, and required outcome reporting.
- Database management-Documents all donor visits and correspondence in Raiser’s Edge database.
- Prospect research-Assists in researching and identifying new funding prospects and matching those prospects to THR projects and programs.
