With the opening of a clinic in Corinth next week, Texas Health continues to expand its Community Clinics to offer COVID-19 vaccines to community members.
Texas Health launched its first Community Vaccine Clinics on Jan. 12 in Bedford, Fort Worth and Lake Worth, later adding a Plano location. Texas Health Physicians Group is also offering the vaccine to its highest-risk patients. In addition, mobile clinics are working with existing community organizations in medically underserved communities with high rates of COVID-19. All of these clinics are offering vaccines by appointment only.
As of Feb. 23, Texas Health had administered more than 105,000 vaccines to employees, spouses, volunteers and members of the public.
But the clinics couldn’t operate without the help of the hundreds of employees who have stepped away from their normal duties to work at the clinics. Most say they find the work extremely gratifying.

“Volunteering at our vaccine clinic gives me a way to interact with our community members after many have been isolated for so long,” said Makala Pollard, director, Brand Management. “Helping our guests get checked in when they arrive and seeing how grateful they are for our work is incredibly rewarding and makes me proud to work for Texas Health.”
We also are seeking community members to volunteer in clinical roles at our community vaccine clinics. These volunteers will prepare and administer vaccines and serve in other roles as needed.
If you know any current or retired nurses, physicians, advanced practice providers – anyone who has training in administering shots – interested in joining us in fighting COVID-19, please have them email COVIDvolunteers@TexasHealth.org.
The volunteers will need to pass a background check and drug screening, as well as complete an orientation. They will receive training on how they will serve in the clinic.
