What do you enjoy most about working at Texas Health?
Texas Health is a large organization with a family atmosphere. This organization values faith and family, which are important to me. Texas Health is innovative and always willing to listen to new ideas. I feel appreciated and valued.
How do you live Our Texas Health PromiseSM?
I live Our Texas Health PromiseSM by treating each patient as an individual and putting them first. Each patient is treated with empathy, dignity, and respect. I display active listening skills and ensure patients are comfortable by bringing a warm blanket or offering a warm smile. I also live Our Texas Health PromiseSM by acknowledging my co-workers by saying “Good Morning” or a gentle wave.
In your role, how do you help make care more convenient for North Texans?
My role consists of working with the indigent population that may have limited resources. Patients are given education about local resources to assist with any identified needs. I attend appointments with patients to offer support and assistance.
How do you help enhance patients’ access to health care that is affordable, reliable and innovative?
Patients are informed about reliable community health locations, which offer lower cost care, including JPS hospital and North Texas Community Health Center. The patient navigator program is still fairly new since it has only been around for three years. Patients are given the opportunity to have a supportive partner as they navigate through the health care system.
