Cultural Innovations Through the Years

Since its founding 25 years ago, Texas Health Resources has worked to create a culture that enables employees to do their life’s best work. First debuted in 2006, Our Texas Health Promise: Individuals Caring For Individuals, Together, has been a north star for development of innovative programs that guide how we care for each other and how we care for our communities.

1998 – Diversity Action Council: The legacy diversity councils combined to form the system’s first Diversity Action Council.

2003– Be Healthy wellness program: Texas Health’s award-winning Be Healthy wellness program launched, providing rewards for employees completing an annual wellness assessment, an annual wellness exam and other resources for staying healthy.

2005 – Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital Fort Worth Magnet®: Texas Health Fort Worth receives the hospital’s first Magnet® designation.

2005– Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital Stephenville Pathway to Excellence®: Texas Health Stephenville receives the hospital’s first Pathway to Excellence® designation.

2006 – Our Texas Health Promise: Texas Health created and rolled out what is now called Our Texas Health Promise: Individuals Caring For Individuals, Together, to serve as the foundation for the organization’s culture.

2006 – Climb up Transformation Mountain: Texas Health launched its strategic plan, a climb up Transformation Mountain, to evolve from a hospital system to an integrated health system.

2006 – Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital Dallas Magnet®: Texas Health Dallas receives the hospital’s first Magnet® designation.

2007 – Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital Plano Magnet®: Texas Health Plano receives the hospital’s first Magnet® designation.

2007– Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital Azle Pathway to Excellence®: Texas Health Azle receives the hospital’s first Pathway to Excellence® designation.

2008 – Nursing Career Advancement Program (NCAP): NCAP was created to recognize and financially reward nurses for their dedication to their hospital, profession and education.

2008 – Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital Allen Pathway to Excellence®: Texas Health Allen receives the hospital’s first Pathway to Excellence® designation.

2008 – Texas Health Specialty Hospital Pathway to Excellence®Texas Health Specialty Hospital receives the hospital’s first Pathway to Excellence® designation.

2009 – Texas Health rebrand: After more than a decade of working together as a health system under legacy family brand names, Texas Health became a consumer-facing brand unifying our organization under a master brand. 

2011 – MedSynergies joins Texas Health: MedSynergies is acquired, significantly growing the size of Texas Health Physicians Group (THPG).

2011– Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital Cleburne Pathway to Excellence®: Texas Health Cleburne receives the hospital’s first Pathway to Excellence® designation.

2013 – TAPE: Texas Health was one of only two organizations to receive the 2013 Texas Award for Performance Excellence (TAPE) by Quality Health Texas.

2014 – Texas Health Arlington Memorial Hospital Magnet®: Texas Health Arlington Memorial receives the hospital’s first Magnet® designation.

2014 – Texas Health Center for Diagnostics and Surgery Pathway to Excellence®: Texas Health Center for Diagnostics and Surgery receives the organization’s first Pathway to Excellence® designation.

2015 – High reliability organization: Texas Health began its journey to become a high reliability organization, implementing Error Prevention Tools and other resources to help the organization provide the same safe and reliable care and experience every time and every place for every person.

2015 – Reliable Care Blueprinting: Eighty-five caregivers from throughout Texas Health met as members of the RCB design team to research and develop modules to standardize care. The first module, Hip and Knee Ambulation, was launched in 2016.

2015 – Best Companies to Work For®Texas Health landed on Fortune’s 100 Best Companies to Work For® list and has made the list every year since then.

2015– Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital Alliance Pathway to Excellence®: Texas Health Alliance receives the hospital’s first Pathway to Excellence® designation.

2015– Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital Hurst-Euless-Bedford Pathway to Excellence®: Texas Health HEB receives the hospital’s first Pathway to Excellence® designation.

2016 – Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital Southwest Fort Worth Magnet®: Texas Health Southwest receives the hospital’s first Magnet® designation.

2016 – Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital Kaufman Pathway to Excellence®: Texas Health Kaufman receives the hospital’s first Pathway to Excellence® designation.

2018 – Texas Health Family Care: All Texas Health Physicians Group primary care practices were branded under the Texas Health name, including Family Care, Adult Care and Internal Medicine, creating visibility and helping consumers identify Texas Health practices across the service area.

2019 – Texas Health Strategic Framework: Texas Health executives reorganized around channels and capabilities to drive collaboration and advance progress to be a consumer-centric organization.

2021 – Diversity, Equity and Inclusion: Texas Health executives reaffirmed their commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion; advisory group and leadership development programs were launched to foster a more inclusive work environment and to re-energize diversity action teams across the organization.

2022 – Medicus Integra designation: THPG became only the 10th organization in the nation to earn the Medicus Integra designation, which denotes formal recognition of hospitals and healthcare institutions that demonstrate significant, purposeful, ongoing commitment to the well-being of physicians.
