On Friday, June 10, System Services leaders visited Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital Allen as part of the new Leader Listening Tour series.
The Leader Listening Tour, formerly known as Face Time, connects System Services leaders with hospital employees and leadership to discuss local issues and concerns.
“We’re here to listen and discuss what’s on your minds,” said CEO Barclay Berdan, FACHE, during a 30-minute Take a Break with Barclay meeting with employees.

Following that session, leaders visited the hospital’s latest expansion areas before breaking into smaller groups to round with employees and share tokens of thanks. Leaders ended the tour with a meeting with Texas Health Allen leadership to discuss achievements and challenges the hospital faces.
Awards were also presented.
- Phil Sheedy, a physical therapist in Sports Medicine, received the Living the Mission Award from Berdan.
- Philip Garcia, B.S.N., a charge nurse in the Emergency Department, received the Consumer Excellence Award from Laura Irvine, senior executive vice president and chief experience officer.
- Tina Rovaris, LCSW, a social worker in Care Transition Management, received the Safety & Quality Star Award from Winjie Miao, senior executive vice president and chief operating officer.
- Janice Jackson, a volunteer, received the Helping Hands Award from Rick McWhorter, senior executive vice president and chief financial officer.
- Promise Praise Pins were presented to:
- Shannon Letchworth, a mammography assistant in the Breast Center, from Carla Dawson, chief people officer;
- Tavia Miller, senior generalist in Human Resources, from Dawson;
- Sarah Oberascher, a risk manager in Risk Management, from Kirk King, executive vice president and Hospital Channel chief operating officer.
- Zelda Scott, program director, Community Relations, will receive her award from Jared Shelton, former Texas Health Allen president, now president of Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital Hurst-Euless-Bedford.
