Texas Health Resources is one of 44 large employers nationwide honored with Business Group on Health’s Best Employers: Excellence in Health & Well-being Award. The award is presented to organizations for their outstanding commitment to advancing employee well-being through comprehensive and innovative benefits and initiatives. This is Texas Health’s 13th time to receive the award.
“We recognize that only by caring for our employees will we be able to care for our patients and communities,” said Carla Dawson, chief people officer, Texas Health. “We are proud of the work that we have done to address employees’ needs, particularly over the past two years.”
Texas Health was specifically recognized for supporting employees’ mental health during the COVID-19 pandemic through initiatives including expanded leadership training, Schwartz Rounds discussions, expansion of Employee Assistance Program benefits and the launch of the Life Expert site. In addition, Texas Health was recognized for benefits changes including paid parental leave, student debt repayment and coverage of applied behavior analysis therapy.

All the winners have a well-being strategy with measurable objectives and incorporate principles of diversity, equity and inclusion into their health and well-being efforts.
