Texas Health Excellence Shines

Several Texas Health Resources finalists received top recognition at the D CEO Excellence in Healthcare Awards on Nov. 17:

  • The Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital Fort Worth Jane & John Justin Patient Surgical Tower was named Outstanding Real Estate Deal. The nine-story tower will add 144 patient beds, 15 surgical suites, and new pre-operative and post-operative service areas to the Texas Health Fort Worth campus. The tower is on track to open in early 2022.
  • Robert Ferguson, former member of the Texas Health Resources Board of Trustees, was named Outstanding Healthcare Advocate. Ferguson has served in volunteer leadership roles advocating for quality, safety and accessibility of healthcare for North Texas communities since 2001. He served on the Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital of Dallas Board of Trustees from 2001 to 2011 and then on the Texas Health Resources Board of Trustees from 2012 to 2018.
  • The DFW COVID-19 Prevalence Study, led by Texas Health and UT Southwestern Medical Center, was recognized for Achievement in Medical Research. The goal of the study was to understand how many people, by demographic subgroups, were or had been infected by COVID-19 in Dallas and Tarrant counties to help develop strategies to improve public health.

All Excellence in Healthcare Awards winners and finalists will be featured in the December issue of D CEO. Texas Health finalists included:

  • Outstanding Community Outreach – THRIVE initiative
  • Outstanding Hospital Executive – Kirk King, hospital channel chief operating officer
  • Outstanding Healthcare Practitioner – Allison Liddell, M.D., infectious disease physician on the medical staff at Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital Dallas and Texas Health Physicians Group physician
  • Outstanding Healthcare Volunteer – Tim Davis, Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital Denton
  • Outstanding Health System – Texas Health

In addition, Andrew Ziskind, M.D., senior executive officer, Southwestern Health Resources, was a finalist for Outstanding Healthcare Executive.
