Texas Health Denton employees open their hearts

Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital Denton employees contributed nearly 900 gifts worth more than $12,000 this year during its Salvation Army Angel Tree effort.

“This truly speaks to our purpose of helping the communities we serve,” said Kathy Srokosz, M.S., B.S.N., R.N., director of outpatient and chronic care services/community events. “Everybody rallies around this mission for children and the few older adults we had this year as well.”

In a hospital wide effort, different departments adopted 50 Angels, generously providing items that the recipients both needed and wanted.

Kathy said the total averages out to about $240 per recipient, or 18 gifts for each, collected over the course of about a month.

The gifts ranged from a bicycle to Amazon Fire tablets, she said.

“As we do every year, Texas Health Denton employees opened their hearts to the community,” said Jeff Reecer, hospital president. “I want to thank them for their efforts and wish all happy holidays.”
