Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital Fort Worth’s PICO Question Campaign featured 50 entries from multidisciplinary teams throughout the hospital. A method for constructing research or quality improvement questions, PICO stands for Population, Intervention, Comparison and Outcomes. The goal of the PICO Question Campaign was to encourage clinicians to ask clinical questions that could be answered through an evidence-based practice or research project.
The campaign was sponsored by the Texas Health Fort Worth Research/Evidence-based Practice Council. Kristi Carter, Pharm.D., is chair of the council, while Gayla Miles, M.S.N., R.N., is co-chair.
Following the campaign, participants were encouraged to work with their nurse scientist or Research Council mentors on an evidence-based practice or research project to answer the question they submitted for the campaign.
