Diversity MBA Media recognizes 50

companies leading the way in equity

Texas Health Resources’ focus on cultivating an inclusive workplace earned a spot on this year’s Diversity MBA Media’s list 50 Out Front: Best Places to Work for Women and Diverse Managers.

Companies honored in Diversity MBA’s ranking are creating work environments that honor dignity and champion inclusion. Texas Health ranked No. 50 on the annual list and was recognized in the Top Five Companies in the Inclusive Culture category.

“At Texas Health, we are committed to creating a workplace where diversity is celebrated and inclusion exists at all levels,” said Jeanette Oliveros, Texas Health director of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion and People and Culture Transformation.

This recognition will be included in the September issue of Diversity MBA Magazine. Honorees will receive their awards in October at the 18th Annual Leadership Development & Recognition Conference in Chicago.

The ranking is based on a variety of metrics including assessing how organizations purposefully invest in strategies and practices to advance women and diverse managers. Companies were selected based on their performance in eight categories: integrated strategy, representation, board diversity, recruitment, workplace inclusion, retention, succession planning, and leadership accountability.

“We bring our whole selves to our work,” said Carla Dawson, chief people officer. “By being more mindful of the strengths our varied backgrounds bring, we can provide better care giver and consumer experiences.”

At Texas Health, females represent nearly 80% of the workforce and more than 50% of care teams are ethnically/racially diverse.

Texas Health is focused on six diversity, equity and inclusion priorities:

  • Clinical care equity
  • Inclusive and culturally welcoming environment
  • Diversity in talent
  • Diversity in governance
  • Health disparities
  • Supplier diversity
