Work Hours: Fulltime Nights, 36 hrs per week
Nursing Supervisor: Promotes shared decision making through collaborative/consultative relationships with nursing administration, department leadership, general nursing staff and other department staff.
What You’ll Do
OPERATIONS/LEADERSHIP
Represents facility administration after business hours and on weekends
PATIENT THROUGHPUT/BED MANAGEMENT
Facilitates appropriate utilization of beds, assuring that patient needs, diagnosis, and acuity are appropriately matched to the unit scope of service.
CUSTOMER SUPPORT/PATIENT EXPERIENCE
Serves as a patient advocate including implementation of Service Recovery (HEART) activities. Demonstrates cultural awareness communication and supportive skills in supporting patients and families.

Education
Associate’s Degree Nursing Req And
Bachelor’s Degree Nursing Pref
Other – CLIAFE Must comply with CLIA regulations regarding foreign education equivalency Req
Experience
5 Years Experience as a registered nurse with previous experience as a charge nurse or similar leadership role (i.e. Charge nurse, committee chair, preceptor) Req
3 Years Emergency and/or critical care nursing Pref
Licenses and Certifications
RN – Registered Nurse Upon Hire Req And
ACLS – Advanced Cardiac Life Support 90 Days Req And
BCLS – Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly Req And
CPI – Crisis Prevention Intervention Training Maintained Annually 90 Days Req And
PALS – Pediatric Advanced Life Support 90 Days Req And
TNCC – Trauma Nursing Core Course 12 Months Req
Skills
Practices within the regulations of the Texas Nurse Practice Act. Proactive problem solving skills, good interpersonal, verbal, written and computer skills. Excellent prioritization skills.
