Surgical Scheduling Specialist – Full-Time, Days

Work Location: Texas Health Fort Worth 1301 Pennsylvania Ave. Fort Worth, TX 76104
Work Schedule: Full-time, Monday–Friday, 8:30 AM–5:00 PM (40 hours/week, day shift).
After 6 months and completion of required competencies, you’ll have the opportunity to transition to a hybrid schedule with up to 3 remote workdays per week.

· You will work within a group of 5 schedulers and is 1 of 2 schedulers trained to be subject matter experts over these procedures.
Here’s What You Need
Education
· High School Diploma or Equivalent Required
Experience
· 1 Year Related experience Required
Licenses and Certifications
· CHAA – Certified Healthcare Access Associate Upon Hire Preferred
Skills
· Requires good written, oral, and telephone communication skills. Requires knowledge of general office equipment, PC’s and associated software packages. Ability to type 35 WPM corrected for errors preferred. General knowledge of medical terminology preferred.
What You Will Do
· Schedules testing and/or procedures for single department in an accurate and timely manner ensuring maximum productivity and expedient patient flow.
· Performs Necessary checks of medical necessity for patients with Medicare as a primary payor to ensure documentation is in compliance with applicable guidelines.
· Effectively communicates with patients, physician office scheduling, surgery scheduling, and/or other necessary staff as needed to reduce appointment time/date errors.
