Work hours: PRN Level III/per diem, Day Shift; minimum requirement: 6 shift/per 6-week schedule, 2 weekend shift/per 6-week schedule, 1 major/2 minor holiday requirement
Lactation Department highlights:
• The Siratt Women’s Center at Texas Health Hurst Euless Bedford (HEB) Hospital has a PRN opportunity for an experienced Lactation Consultant.
• 16 bed NICU, 9 bed L&D unit and 4 bed OB ED, 3 OR suites unit with an average of 200 deliveries a month
• Level II NICU
• Maternal Designation III
Qualifications – External
Here’s What You Need
• Associate Degree in Nursing or Nursing Diploma required; BSN preferred
• RN – Registered Nurse Upon Hire required
• BCLS – Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly required
• IBCLC – Lactation Consultant upon hire
• CPI – Crisis Prevention Intervention Training within 90 days of hire
• 1 Year experience as a Registered Nurse required
• Current Lactation experience strongly preferred
What You Will Do
Delivers care to patients utilizing the Nursing Process
• Assesses the patient
• Plans the care of the patient
• Intervenes as appropriate
• Evaluates the effectiveness of interventions
• Incorporates age specific safety/infection control measures into patient care.
• Initiates action to meet patient and/or significant others need for information
• Maintains continuity of patient care inter-shift, inter-hospital, and while expediting out of hospital transfers.
