Our Progressive Care Units include:

PCU Surgical Tele Unit - a 35 bed unit in the new Hamon Tower. We specialize in the care of cardiovascular surgical patients, thoracic surgical patients, vascular surgical patients, cath lab patients, heart failure patients, pace makers, and all cardiac conditions. This unit is a high acuity telemetry unit that signifies a reduced nurse to patient ratio with Great teamwork

PCU Cardiac Tele Unit – a 23 bed post interventional unit mixed with medical telemetry providing comprehensive post interventional care to patients from admission to discharge.  We pull femoral sheaths and take medications that other units do not take and have a care transitions manager and clinical nurse leaders on the unit to aide in the continuum of care as well as help with the patient transition from the hospital setting to their after care setting. Self-scheduling helps with the work/life balance as well
 
PCU Neuro Tele Unit -  a 35 bed unit in the new Hamon Tower that is very engaged in UBC. We specialize in the care of cardiovascular patients which includes Heart Failure, AMI and Arrhythmia patients, pre and post interventional patients (Cath and pacemakers), care of Neuro conditions and is a Stroke designated unit. It is a high acuity telemetry unit that signifies a reduced nurse to patient ratio.  Opportunities for growth and ability to obtain PCCN or NIHSS certifications
 

Minimum Requirements / Qualifications:
Graduate of a NLN (National League of Nursing) or CCNE (Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education) accredited nursing programs
BSN preferred. RNs hired after January, 2014, require completion of BSN within 3 years of start date. RNs hired within THR after December, 2016, require completion of BSN within 2 years of start date
One year experience in a clinical / acute care setting as a RN
PCU experience is preferred
Current AHA BLS 
Current RN licensure or compact licensure recognized by the Texas Board of Nursing

 
Full Time Shifts:
7pm – 7am (Nights – 12 hours)
7am – 7pm (Days – 12 hours)
