What do you enjoy most about working at Texas Health?

Texas Health Resources has provided my family and me with wonderful opportunities. Before joining the Texas Health family I worked a minimum wage job with nine college hours in theater arts and no direction for my future. Texas Health has provided education opportunities, support, and encouragement to go to school. I am currently working on a master’s degree in nursing administration with a summer 2018 completion date. Along with opportunities to better myself, Texas Health provides me with the tools to better the lives of others. These include guidance, best practices, and education opportunities to enhance that patient experience while in the hospital, community outreach opportunities, and leadership growth to help guide individuals who are new to the health care world and Texas Health.

How do you live Our Texas Health PromiseSM?

I believe that every single person I come in contact with should be made to feel important. This includes patients, visitors, and staff members. Texas Health Cleburne is a family that welcomes everyone. Being a Texas Health entity that is located in a smaller area, I see individuals I have taken care of shopping in grocery stores, seated next to me at in restaurants, which means Our Texas Health PromiseSM reaches beyond the doors of the hospital.

In your role, how do you help make care more convenient for North Texans?

Advocating for patients and their families, explaining and making sure everyone understands their care during and after the hospital visit. As chair of our unit-based council, plans are underway to go out into the community and provide health care educational opportunities.

How do you help enhance patients’ access to health care that is affordable, reliable and innovative?

By learning the demographics of the population we serve and becoming a resource for the community and their health needs.
