What do you enjoy most about working at Texas Health?
Working at Texas Health Plano has given me valuable experience and opportunity to be able to make a difference in my patients' hospital experience. It has given a wonderful meaning as to why I became a nurse in the first place and that is to care, show compassion and make a positive impact on my patients' lives. In addition, one of the major reasons why I look forward to working every day is the people I worked with who are dedicated, highly engaged and well-experienced staff of my unit, which is 8C.
How do you live Our Texas Health PromiseSM?
Being genuinely caring, compassionate and understanding of others, whether patients or co-workers is how I live Our Texas Health PromiseSM. For me, Our Texas Health PromiseSM can simply mean, listening to my patients, greeting co-workers in the morning, sharing funny stories to lighten up other person's mood, offering a handshake, etc. These small steps can go a long way for as long as done sincerely and with a heart.
In your role, how do you help make care more convenient for North Texans?
Providing patients with the necessary information about their care is very crucial in their recovery and can definitely minimize potential complications. Their access to information is a very good way of making care convenient to my patients. Texas Health has several sources of information available that can be provided to the patients. If patients know what's going on, they become empowered and involved with their plan of care.
How do you help enhance patients' access to health care that is affordable, reliable and innovative?
Utilizing the tools available in the provision of care such as Reliable Care Blueprints, Quality Measures, and other Evidence-Based Practices can assure that patients will receive affordable, reliable and innovative care.
